Why another Distribution?

Well I just don't want to waste time due to fit other distributions to my demand.

Concept

The SLACKpad distribution will use:

• KISS
• Kernel 2.6 series
• xynth as X + windowmanager
• I will try to use the joypad on the right for thumbscript or a thing like it for easy writing without a keyboard.
• The distribution will have a base (SLACKpad weak) which will fit on both device classes because it is only 16M
• Becaus 16MB arn't that much SLACKpad will use the subgenious Slacker system

SLACKpad weak

This will be only 16Mb. So there is no need to create different versions for CL4 and SL4 class SIMpad's.

The subgenius Slacker system

A Slacker will be a expansion for your base system. It will be a datastorage which is transparent (could be a CF,MMC,network,etc...) to the system. The SIMpad will authenticate it self to the Slacker with a kryptokey stored on a SmartCard(if I could get the driver working) or on a cryptoloop ore something. The Slacker then will authenticate it self to the SIMpad. If the key is known it will ask you if you want to activate the Slacker else it will ask you if you would trust the Slacker. After this the Slacker will overlay the base filesystem with unionfs ore cowfs. So there are no more limits set to your SIMpad - you will be free. Throught the use of a SmartCard the device could shared with others (e.g on workplace,company,university,school).

Examples

With a Slacker you can do everything so you can ask yourself the old MS slogan.

• You could build up a Terminal-Slacker. So if you come inside your company the WLAN device will recognize that there is a Slacker - you accept it and use the hole power of a terminal server.
• Also, you could build a Navi-Slacker. Just put the MMC inside your SIMpad and the navigation system will authomatic calculates a route with the data from your calendar and your adressbook.
• Just put a Couchpotato-Slacker in the SIMpad and use it as a surfing device and dreambox controller.
• Go to school put in the CAS-Slacker and be a math checker
• You can also build up authomatic adress and calendar updater Slacker
• A ebook-Slacker would be cool,too
• Just everything you ever wanted comes real.
